Well let me catch you up on what's been going on lately with us!

School
Sean's almost half way done! He traveled to Germany this past spring for two of his classes. He says now that his taste for American beer has been forever tainted, since Germany's beer was so good. He also got to see the Berlin wall, a concentration camp, and a few castles during his trip there. Here are a few pics from his trip:

School news for me....I just heard last week that I've been accepted to the University of Houston! My graduate program will be in the school of communication with an emphasis in PR, advertising or corporate communications. I haven't decided yet on an emphasis.

We've also moved across town! This place saves me almost an hour a day in driving time and is the same short drive to work for Sean. Tails isn't a fan of the new place yet, but hopefully he will be soon...I think he misses the old place.

I also celebrated my 25th birthday. Sean planned a night out with friends at one of my favorite restaurants. Pics from the evening:

I know friends and family I have heard your complaints about us not updating the blog, so here's my attempt to update my blog while covering the 4 months of non-blogging. So did I make a new year's resolution to try an update my blog more often? Unfortuantely no, because my resolution was to only eat french fries once a week. What was Sean's? I don't think he made one... What was Tails' resolution? To snuggle with us more instead of sitting on the couch by himself :)

Well, Happy New Year! I'm excited for what 2010 will bring our little family. Will it bring a house? a new car for me? a friend for Tails? I don't know, we'll have to wait and see! If I had to guess out of those three it would be the first a house. We currently have "house fever" and are looking in lots of places! I saw another blogger post her top ten favorite things about 2009. I thought since I've not posted in awhile I would post my top ten moments of 2009. Drum roll please....

1. Rush begin born (See post Tiny Hands and Feet)

2. Celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. My husband is a wonderful man who I learn something new from almost everyday. He is my perfect match, I should thank God more often for him! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the evening, they are on my camera itself and I can't find the cord to connect it to the computer :(

3. Running the Rock n' Roll San Antonio half marathon with a group of friends. If you would've asked Sean and I at the beginning of this year if this was physically possible for us, we would've said no. However, once you run one, you are addicted! I look forward to us completing many more of these throughout the years and hopefully a full marathon in 2010! We'll keep you posted on that..but back to the race. There were runners/walkers that were 70+ with physical disabilities that were out there having a great time. Finishing the race is an experience I find hard to put into words...I was happily exhausted, Sean was exhausted...and not feeling to well. But again, we'll bot happily run another!

4. Buying our first puppy, Tails Rebate Reese. What a joy/pain he's been! After we finished housebreaking this little guy, it's pretty much been all joy! Things you need to know about him: loves to steal socks/underwear, prefers laying on blankets and pillows, knows how to sit, speak, shake, down, roll over and give a kiss(thank you for those last two Julie!)

5. Our trip to Hawaii. A group of our friends took a trip to Hawaii in October. It was amazing, Sean and I were able to do all the things we didn't have time for on our honeymoon.

6. Sean started graduate school to get his MBA at University of Houston. I'm so proud of him for deciding to do this to for our future!

7. Christmas 2009, everything from the ugly Christmas sweater party to seeing Rush open his first Christmas morning presents. Christmas was the first time we got to see Rush since he was born! He is full of personality, and loves when any of the guys talk to him. His favorite things include his bouncer, the Rush and Papa dance and the game peek-a-boo. I got him to give me a little giggle but Sean had him laughing through a whole car ride! What a precious little boy, I miss him all the time!

8. Getting a full time job with Region 4. I'm a marketing specialist there and have met some wonderful people that work there. I'm learning more each day and am thinking about going to grad school in the fall.

9. Weddings: We first were off to ATL to celebrate Jacob and Krista's wedding, then here in Houston we watched our new friends Jennifer and JP exchange vows!

Again, no pics from Jen and JP's wedding cause I can't find my camera cord!

10. The summer of concerts: The Fray, Jason Mraz, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley (twice), Dierks Bentley, Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects, Pat Green

Hey Everyone,

My nephew Rush entered in the world at 5:03pm on Thursday July 30, 2009. He weighed 6pounds 12 & 3/4 ounces and measured 19 3/4 inches. Every move he makes touches my heart and I can't wait to see what the Lord has planned for his life. I can't explain the way I feel everytime I look at him...the only way I can describe how it feels is it's a feeling of endless love.I hope to be the Aunt he knows he can always call :)I am so happy for my sister and parents, there is no doubt in my mind Rush will be the most loved child in the world.

So....the other day I accidentally stepped on Tails' foot, we thought he was okay...but we were wrong. First check out the video below.

So no he didn't break it, but he had soft tissue damage and has to wear a splint for a week. :(

Praises and Play

Good news! I found a great job here in the Houston area! I will be a Marketing Specialist. Praise the Lord! I will be working for a great company whose main beneficiary is kids, what could be better than that? I know finding a job was hard, but the Lord wanted me to wait so I could have this opportunity, keep me in your prayers I start this Monday.

As for Sean, he is doing great! I always admire his determination and go-getter personality. He just got his own business line at work (which is a very big deal) and put on a great presentation for his department to help them be faster and more productive. I am so very proud of him, he's always been such a hard worker!
Sean and I are both so excited we will be an Aunt and Uncle this August (or July) to Mr. Rush Chaddick! Isn't that name precious? I find it reallly hard to walk by a children's store now and not at least go in for a minute. And Adie here is the jacket we got at Old Navy.

So, our little guy Mr. Tails is doing fantastic! I think however he might in for a shock on Monday when we are both gone for 8 hours during the day. I want to get a "puppy" cam set up so I can see what he does all day while we're gone....but Sean isn't so crazy about the idea :(

First Hair Cut

I took Tails for his first haircut this morning....and he wasn't too excited to be left at Petsmart :(
I was a little disappointed to find out that it was raining outside today. You know when you take your car in to get washed...you never take it on a rainy day because you know it will just get dirty again. That's kind of how I felt taking him in today, he will come out clean, but first run outside he'll be muddy again. Oh well at least the hair will be out of his face.

Sadly everyone in my household is asleep right now but me. Tails has strategically placed himself asleep in front of the door so nobody can leave without him knowing :) Sean is sick today, let's hope he doesn't have strep throat. Prayers for him to feel better are greatly appreciated. I can tell he really doesn't feel good because the March Madness games are on and he isn't even watching. Sean's work set up a bracket and Sean told me if he wins the money....I get an Iphone! Our friends constantly make fun of me for still having my flip phone. While I do want the new phone, I think I might be really sad to give up my current one.

This year Sean and I (with a few of our friends) went to a few concerts at the Houston Rodeo. For those of you who don't know, it's a month long Rodeo that also has a country singer at the end of each night. This year I was fortunate to get to see my favorite band, Rascal Flatts. This was a wonderful Valentine's present from my hubby. He also got me tickets to Brad Paisley. I had never seen him before, but definitely want to again, he was amazing! Finally, my friend Emily offered me a ticket to Pat Green! I forgot how many great songs he sings...Wave on wave, baby doll, let me, etc.

Sorry for not updating this in such a long time...I only have a few minutes to post but the big news with us these days is we got a dog. It's a Maltese, his name is Tails. He is full of personality! He favorite thing to do right now is sleep underneath the couch. It's his chance to get a few minutes to himself. Here are a few pictures:

Thank you for the tag sis! Woah, what an awful picture of us....but the story makes it better. This is from the second day we were married, spending the night in Childress, TX. We got a flat tire on our way to a fun night in Dallas. So instead of having a lovely dinner with just the two of us, we ended up eating the cookie cake from the wedding and making sure no one stole my car out of the WalMart parking lot. :) I know that this story will be one I tell our kids.

Happy Early Valentine's Day everyone! Hope you enjoy the special love filled weekend with the man in your life as well as your family and friends!

Sean and I are getting each the same present this year, a puppy! We don't know what kind or exactly when we will get him or her but if you have any breed suggestions let us know! Right now we are thinking Havanese, Maltese or some other small breed. We aren't getting a large one because I don't like them, I mean because we are living in an apartment. :) Any suggestions?

What a weekend!

We enjoyed having some of our friends come into town from San Antonio this weekend for the O.A.R concert! I wish I could say that I had pictures from the concert, but they wouldn't allow anyone to bring them in. :( Sean has actually seen them a time or two before, but this was my first time.....and it was LEGEN....wait for it.....DARY! They are hands down the best band I've seen live with all the drum, guitar and saxophone solos! They played a mix of old and new songs which made Sean very happy since he claims he was a fan before many people knew about them...

So I know my last post was about superbowl food, so what did i end up making? A cake that looked like a football field and brownies :) I was supposed to take a Mexican pile on dish as well but I was tired of cooking by then. And I would like to say that I have a picture of the cake....but prior to taking it over to a friend's house the foil messed it up...oops I'm not quite a whiz in the kitchen but I'm getting there.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! I know we did with football, friends and food!! I actually have one more request, after some thinking over the past few days I'm going to try and go the next 7 days without complaining or whining. Not that I think I have a large problem with this, but I feel God is calling me to do this challenge. So if you have some time to pray for me this week I would greatly appreciate it. Pray for my strength to not give up and that the result will me being a better follower of Christ through this experience. I'll leave you with a wonderful song chorus by Rob Attaway. His new cd is amazing and I have sung it at the top of my lungs for about the past week in my car. Worshipping God in the car to and from work has really been an uplifting experience!

It's been awhile....

Okay, so maybe one of my new year's resolutions should have been to update this blog more often! I'll try to be better....I promise!
What's been going on with us here lately, well I would say some pretty interesting things. After this week Sean has decided he will be going back to school this summer or Fall to get his MBA! I know he's wanted to do that for awhile and I'm glad he will be able to soon. As for me I'm still in relentless pursuit of a job here in Houston, but in the mean time am enjoying working at Victoria's Secret.
Probably the most important news we have gotten lately is that we are soon-to-be Aunt Shanda and Uncle Sean! That's right Adie and Drew are having a baby and he/she is due August 6, 2009! I can't wait to spoil that child :) I only wish we were going to live closer to them.....but maybe we will...
Also, my friend Joanna came in town a few weekends ago. She has become such a dear friend of mine in a relatively short amount of time and I wish she could have been here longer than a day. Jo is one of the most kind-hearted women I know...I'm still trying to convince her to move from Colorado to Texas!

Bed Time!

Wow, so it's 11:15 and I'm exhausted! But after a long day at work (which by the way I forgot to mention that I now work at the Houston Aeros as the Charities and Marketing intern)......anways back to what I was saying. On my drive home I was listening to the radio and starting thinking about what a wonderful husband I had waiting for me at home. He is always there for me and does just the sweetest little things that make my day or night. For example last night my head hurt so bad my stomach hurt and he just sat there with me and we talked until I felt better. Then there was also the other day when I came home from work and all the laundry was done, and then there was that Saturday that he cleaned everything! And he also ALWAYS takes out the trash because he knows it's my least favorite chore. All in all I have a wonderful and very loving husband who I really wanted to brag on for a minute or two! I love you Sean!

What to Make............

So I'm sitting here half paying attention to The View and half looking up Halloween treat recipes. I want to make some special Halloween treats to take to Sean's work tomorrow. Any good ideas? Once I figure out what i'm going to make I'll be sure to post pictures no matter how good or bad they turn out.

Also, Sean and I went to Corpus Christi last weekend for his Fraternity's alumni weekend. It was a great time getting to catch up with old friends and see that beautiful (hahaha, that's funny to everyone who has lived there) water ;)

I know this makes my posts out of order but a lot of people haven't seen our honeymoon photos. So I thought I would post them on here, we went to Hawaii for about a week and had the trip of a lifetime. There were amazing sunsets every evening which we watched from the beach every day. Well it's official....Sean and I went to our first NFL game today! We didn't know what to expect since the Texans were 0-4 going into today, but what a suprise we were in for! The team was losing with about a 1 minute left when they led an amazing drive down the field to score and win by 1 point! Tons of people had left the stadium but Sean and I feel the same way about leaving any sporting event early....We stay till the very last play.

On another note....we're new to the blogging world so who knows if I'm going to post this right! We are absolutely loving Houston because there are so many new and exciting things to do here. I miss being close to my family, but luckily it's almost the holiday season so I'll be seeing old and new family again soon! Enjoy our blog, it should be pretty interesting :)
